Overview

This hotel is a popular choice in Salmon Arm as it is able to satisfy a variety of guests and travellers. Car travellers passing through the area find it well located, just off the Trans-Canada Highway. Value seekers enjoy the freebies offered and comfort of the clean rooms and well-kept facilities for the budget prices. And families travelling with children make good use of the family suites that sleep 6, the free hot breakfast and indoor pool with waterslide.

This smoke-free hotel has 114 air-conditioned guest rooms and suites, each offering free Wi-Fi, free local calls, a flat screen TV with cable and Nintendo, a coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, a desk, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, individual climate control and windows that open. Room extras include a theme room, a fireplace, a sofabed and a soaker tub. Most rooms are furnished with 1 or 2 queen beds or 1 king bed, but the hotel offers a family room and a 1-room suite that sleeps up to 6 guests.

Suites offer extra space and may have an additional TV, a seating area with a sofabed, a microwave (in addition to the standard mini-fridge in all rooms) or a mini-kitchen (microwave, mini-fridge, and sink with counter). Wheelchair accessible rooms are also available.

Free outdoor parking is on site and includes oversize vehicles and an electric vehicle charging station. Guests can bring up to 2 pets for a charge of $15 per pet, per night.

A free continental breakfast with hot choices is offered daily to all guests. Nearby restaurants can be accessed in a few minutes' walk and include Yan's Restaurant, DQ Grill & Chill, and Home Restaurant, a 5- to 7-minute walk away.

Hotel amenities include elevators, an indoor pool with a waterslide, a hot tub, a fitness centre, a business centre, a guest laundry, meeting and banquet space and free daily newspapers.

Shopping is available at Centenoka Park Mall, a 5-minute drive southwest. The Salmon Arm Recreation Centre is a 2-minute drive away and Okanagan College is about a 3-minute drive from the hotel. The Good

The majority of the reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, with much praise going to the hotel's breakfast, staff and rooms.

Numerous guests described the free breakfast as above-average and well-made, with many hot and cold items and excellent coffee.

The hotel's staff were the source of many compliments by reviewers and were characterized as efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. One guest stated, "Wonderful welcoming staff, in all departments - front desk, housekeeping and breakfast servers".

Several lodgers described their rooms as clean, spacious, quiet and well equipped with comfortable beds and linens, good water pressure and reliable Wi-Fi.

The hotel's value was also praised by several guests, who described it as providing excellent value and reasonable rates. More than one said it was the best value in town.

Many appreciated the hotel's location which was described as right off Hwy 1, a quick drive to everything, close to walking trails and with beautiful scenery.

Reviewers appreciated the pool, waterslide and hot tub and said it was well maintained and clean, and most enjoyable, especially for the children. Guests also liked the large parking facility on site.

The Bad

There were not a lot of complaints found in the reviews read, but very occasionally a guest was disappointed that the hotel served breakfast in styrofoam and plastic containers. They felt this produced unnecessary waste.

Also, occasionally a guest would complain about missing the cut off to the hotel from the Trans-Canada Highway.
