Tips For Staying In Revelstoke
What to do in Revelstoke?
Revelstoke's motto is "Work Hard, Play Hard". I suppose those who laid the CP Railway and blasted through the mountains to make Rogers Pass or built the Revelstoke Dam would certainly qualify for the Work Hard part and I imagine the modern day skiers and snowboarders would qualify for the Play Hard part!
Tourism is an important part of Revelstoke's economy and skiing has emerged as the most important attraction to the area with Revelstoke getting more of its fair share of snowfall.
Downtown Revelstoke: is graced by the Columbia River to the south and west, and bordered by Mount Revelstoke National Park to the north. Summer activities include golf, fishing, hiking, high ropes, mountain biking, rock climbing, paragliding, aerial touring and water sports including white water rafting.
Revelstoke airport: sandwiched between Williamson Lake to the east and Upper Arrow Lake to the west, is only 7 minutes from the city centre.
Revelstoke Mountain Resort: on Mount MacKenzie is located just a 5-minute drive from the airport and 10 minutes from downtown and offers lift, cat, heli and backcountry skiing.
Glacier National Park: is about 36 minutes northeast of Revelstoke.
