Overview
The Value Lodge Economy Motel and Backpackers Hostel, is situated along the Trans-Canada Highway, south of the downtown area. Offering hostel/dorm rooms and few on-site amenities, this property is well suited for guests looking for budget-friendly accommodations.

All private/hotel rooms include free Wi-Fi, free local calls, a TV, a coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a hair dryer and air conditioning. Both smoking and non-smoking accommodations are available. The dorm/hostel rooms are furnished with eight bunk beds per room and have shared bathroom facilities. Private rooms are equipped with towels at no charge, and guests staying in dorm rooms are able to rent towels for $2 each.

This hotel offers one wheelchair-accessible room. Free parking is available on site. Pets are permitted in select private rooms at no additional charge.

Other on-site amenities include a 24-hour front desk, a games room and a guest laundry facility. This property also offers long-term rental rates, either by the week or by the month. This property does not have an on-site restaurant.

Downtown attractions are about 3 minutes away by car and include the Nanaimo Museum, the Port Place Shopping Mall, the Nanaimo Harbour Water Aerodrome and ferry service to Gabriola Island, Protection Island and Newcastle Island.
