Overview

This hotel is located in a residential/commercial area of Kelowna and is across the street from the Capri Centre Mall (restaurants, drug store, cold beer and liquor store, grocery store, and retail shopping). This property is ideal for guests who prefer to explore the Kelowna region by car because the hotel is centrally situated on Highway 97, a major thoroughfare that provides access to attractions in east, west, and downtown Kelowna.

This property is 100% smoke-free and all rooms and suites include a sofa bed, individual climate control, a coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, free local calls, free Wi-Fi, and a TV. Standard rooms are furnished with 1 or 2 queen-sized beds, while suites are configured with 2 or 3 queen-sized beds or 1 king-sized bed. Select suites also include kitchenettes and jetted tubs.

Free parking is available on site and small dogs (under 25 lbs) are permitted for an additional fee of $10 per night.

A free breakfast is served daily from 7:30 am to 10:30 am. This property also has an on-site restaurant, Mekong, which features Chinese Szechwan cuisine and serves lunch and dinner.

On-site amenities include a heated indoor pool and hot tub, coin-operated laundry machines, fax and photocopy services (extra fees may apply), and ski storage.

The Orchard Park Mall (the largest shopping mall in the Okanagan region) is 5 minutes away by car. Downtown Kelowna is a 3-minute drive from this hotel and features the Okanagan Lake boardwalk, City Park beach, dining, nightlife, and the Lake City Casino (poker, table games, and live entertainment).

The Good

Among the reviews used for this analysis, many guests described overall positive experiences at this hotel. The rooms were frequently described as clean and several guests mentioned that their beds were comfortable. A few reviewers thought that their rooms were spacious.

The staff were frequently complimented for their service and guests described the front desk agents as friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and professional. One couple said they were impressed that the front desk agents greeted them by name for the duration of their stay.

The indoor pool was mentioned as a value-added feature by many guests and a couple of reviewers described the pool as clean and well maintained.

A few guests found the hotel centrally located for exploring Kelowna attractions, including downtown and the big box shopping district, via Highway 97.

The Bad

Several reviewers described the in-room decor as dated. One guest described his room as "old and tired", while another reviewer said that the decor was "stuck in the 70s-80s".

A few reviewers were disturbed by noise from neighbouring guest rooms and a couple of guests said they were disturbed in their rooms by traffic noise. One reviewer suggested that future guests request a room at the back of the hotel to avoid the street noise.

A few guests complained that the dining area for the free breakfast was often crowded. One reviewer said that the lay-out of the breakfast items was disorganized and another guest said that the free breakfast lacked selection.
