Overview

This hotel on Highway 97 is ideal for those travelling by car along this major route that connects communities along Okanagan Lake between Penticton and Vernon (and beyond). Its location in a popular shopping area (Orchard Park Mall is a 5-minute drive away) makes it popular with those looking to shop or dine outside of the downtown core.

All 176 units include free Wi-Fi, individual climate control, a balcony or a terrace, a flat-screen TV with pay-per-view movies, an iron and ironing board, a mini-fridge, a coffeemaker, bathrobes and slippers, an iPod dock, free local calls, and free newspapers (delivered to guest rooms and suites). Suites include the standard room amenities plus a kitchenette (mini-fridge, microwave, and wet bar) and separate living and bedroom areas. This hotel also offers "allergy-friendly" rooms, which feature cork flooring.

Rooms are configured with two queen-sized beds or one queen-sized bed and a sofa bed. Suites are configured with either a king or queen-sized bed and a sofa bed. Select suites also include a jetted tub.

Free parking is available on site and pets are permitted for an additional fee of $20 per night.

A free breakfast is served daily from 6:30 am - 10:30 am. The free breakfast includes a selection of hot items and chef-prepared omelettes. Other on-site dining options include the ORA Kitchen & Bar and 97 Street Pub.

Recreational facilities include an indoor mineral pool, 2 outdoor hot tubs, a steam room, a fitness centre, and an on-site spa. Other on-site amenities include a garden courtyard, a business and conference centre, coin-operated laundry machines, dry cleaning (extra fees apply), and an ATM.

Downtown Kelowna, which features dining, nightlife, the Okanagan Lake waterfront, and City Park beach, is a 9-minute drive from this hotel. Wineries and marinas in West Kelowna may be accessed via highway 97 in about 12 minutes by car. Crystal Mountain Ski Resort (also in West Kelowna) is 37 minutes away.

Many guests described their rooms as clean and several guests mentioned that their beds were comfortable. A couple of guests found their rooms to be quiet, while a couple of other reviewers thought that their rooms were spacious.

Many reviewers found the location convenient for commuting to Kelowna area attractions by car. Guests said that shopping destinations, a grocery store, and the airport (YLW) were all within a short drive of the hotel.

Several guests described the staff as friendly and efficient.

Several reviewers praised the food and the ample selection of hot items at the free breakfast. A few guests also found the chef-prepared omelettes to be a value-added feature.

A couple of guests complained about smelling cigarette smoke in their guest rooms. One reviewer suggested that this happened because guests were permitted to smoke on their private patios.

Isolated complaints included: weak water pressure in the shower, expensive room rates, no view of the mountains or lake from the guest rooms, and housekeeping failing to replenish complimentary amenities during a multi-night stay.
