Overview

This hotel has a free breakfast and a mini-fridge and microwave in each room as well as an indoor pool with a waterslide and is appealing to guests travelling with children.

All rooms come with free Wi-Fi, a flat screen TV, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a coffeemaker, a desk, individual climate control, a hair dryer and an iron and ironing board. Standard rooms are furnished with one or two queen beds. Suites have a king bed and a sofabed. Some also have a twin and a queen bed, meant to accommodate families or larger groups. Pets are not allowed.

There is no restaurant on site, but guests can have a complimentary hot breakfast, which includes items like waffles, daily. Amenities include a hot tub, indoor pool with waterslide, a business centre, guest laundry facilities, free parking and a gym.

The Sylvan Lake Cinema is about a 1-minute walk away from this hotel. Sylvan Lake Provincial Park, with a beach, is just over a 5-minute drive away. Golfers are a under a 10-minute drive from Meadow Lands Golf Club. For guests who wish to visit Red Deer, it is just over a 20-minute drive away (All distances and travel time estimates: Google Maps)

The Good

The vast majority of reviews used for this analysis were positive and guests were most impressed with this hotel's location and with the indoor pool and waterslide.

Guests said that this hotel was easy to locate. They also felt that it was within a short drive of Sylvan Lake Provincial Park (just over 5 minutes by car). Guests who were visiting Red Deer thought that the hotel was within a reasonable drive, as it is just over 20 minutes away by car.

Several guests enjoyed the pool, saying that the area was clean. Guests particularly enjoyed the waterslide.

Staff were focused on guest needs and frequently went out of their way to accommodate guest requests, according to reviewers. Guests described staff as warm, helpful and welcoming.

Guests enjoyed the convenience of having breakfast included with the room rate. They said food was tasty, fresh and that staff took care to make sure that food was frequently restocked.

Rooms were clean, comfortable and well equipped, according to several guests.

The Bad

Based on the reviews used for this analysis, guest complaints were infrequent. There were a few criticisms, but they were isolated and not reflective of general guest opinion.

A handful of guests complained about thin walls and about noise disturbances from the hallways. Guests complained about loud conversations, ice machines and elevators contributing to the noise.

There were a few guests who complained about the frequency of housekeeping services.

Some guests had issues with warm, stuffy rooms. One guest suggested that rooms could be better ventilated.
