Tips For Staying In Jasper
Choosing A Hotel in Jasper
Quick Summary of Most Popular Areas
Jasper National Park: the downtown core of the city is located in the heart of the park and is a central hub for access to a wide array of outdoor activities
What Jasper is all about
Jasper is a place for those looking for an outdoor adventure against an incredibly scenic backdrop. Jasper is a small town deep in the Alberta Rockies, right in the middle of Jasper National Park. It is relatively easy to find a hotel in Jasper, with numerous options near and along Connaught Drive (the main artery through the city). Visitors to this beautiful city are spoiled with the riches of the land including a variety of tours (walking, horseback, air, boat and rail). Other activities include golfing, rafting, skiing and fishing. Getting around the city is best done by car or mountain bike. Luckily for out-of-towners it is quite easy to rent either one of these modes of transportation.
Jasper is quite a distance from other major centres like Edmonton (almost 400km to the east) and the Banff town site (nearly 300km to the south), so daytime city-hopping is not really a viable option. However, visitors that enjoy the outdoors will find there is plenty to keep them busy right in Jasper.
