Overview
This property is situated on the Yellowhead Trail (Highway 16) and is an hour's drive from Jasper National Park. Close to grocery and other shopping in Hinton, Nova Lodge is well suited for travellers who are driving through western Canada and are looking for a convenient and budget-friendly place to lodge on their road trip.
This property is 100% smoke-free and all 103 rooms include free Wi-Fi, a kitchenette (fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster and kettle), a flat screen TV, free local calls, an iron and ironing board, air conditioning and a desk. Rooms are furnished with one queen bed, two queen beds or one king bed. Suites at this hotel offer a separate sitting area and dining area. Suites are furnished with one queen bed and a sofabed.
Free parking with cold weather plug-ins are available on site and pets are permitted for an additional fee of $10 per night.
A free breakfast is served daily from 6 am to 11 am.

Many guests complained that the on-site pool and hot tub were closed for maintenance for the duration of their stay. A few reviewers complained that they were not made aware of this inconvenience when they made the reservation (although one guest did mention that they were given access to the pool at a nearby sister hotel--Nova Inn).
While several guests praised the food at the free breakfast, a few reviewers were disappointed that the selection did not include hot items. One guest found the dining area for the breakfast to be too small.
A few reviewers complained that their beds were uncomfortably firm.
Some complaints were made about the staff. One guest said he was kept waiting at the front desk to be checked in, another said the staff member at the front desk was sending text messages on his cell phone when she was addressing her concerns to him, and another said that housekeeping knocked on his guest room door at 7:30 in the morning seeking to clean the room.
While a few guests found their rooms to be quiet, a couple of reviewers complained about noise. One guest said that she could hear the TV from a neighbouring room, while another reviewer was disrupted by noise from trucks [starting up] in the early morning hours.
