Overview

Located about a 1-minute drive from the nearest Yellowhead Highway on-ramp and a 6-minute drive from Hinton's town centre, Holiday Inn Hinton is geared towards travellers who prefer a centrally located hotel with an indoor pool, on-site dining and easy highway access.

Each of the smoke-free rooms comes equipped with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and wired Internet, a microwave, a mini-fridge, a coffeemaker, an iron and ironing board and a hair dryer. Rooms with a seating area and a sofabed and a jetted tub are also available, as are wheelchair-accessible rooms. Pets are not permitted.

Hotel amenities include an indoor pool and waterslide, hot tub and sauna, a fitness centre, one meeting room, a 24-hour business centre, guest laundry, free parking and on-site dining at Green Tree Restaurant, which serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and room service daily.

Parks West Mall and Dr. Duncan Murray Recreation Centre are both roughly a 5-minute drive away, while Jasper is 56 minutes away by car. Jasper-Hinton Airport (YJP) is about a 36-minute drive away. (All travel time estimates: Google Maps)

The Good

The majority of the reviews sourced for this analysis were positive, with much praise going to the hotel's staff, location and rooms.

Many guests praised the hotel's staff, finding them helpful, friendly, professional and accommodating. One patron noted, "We have stayed in allot of Hotels and we have never been treated as good as you are treated here, Management is accommodating and welcoming and we have found that ALL staff throughout the Hotel are friendly and happy, always smiling and saying Hello. You really feel like they appreciate and care about you and your every need".

The hotel's location was convenient for numerous reviewers. They described it as easy to find and close to highway access, downtown Hinton, Tim Hortons, Jasper and restaurants.

Several lodgers were satisfied with their accommodations at the hotel. They found their rooms to be clean, spacious, well equipped and modern, with comfortable beds. Some travellers had complaints about their lodgings, however (see below).

A few travellers were disappointed with the hotel's rates, which they described as expensive and overpriced.
