The Good
Reviews were somewhat mixed but some guests enjoyed their stays at this hotel. Although it is older, the hotel is renovating and updating its facility under new ownership and claims to have one-third of the rooms done (at Sept 2015).

Guests who stayed in renovated rooms, plus other guests who have stayed frequently over the years for work, found the hotel to provide a clean and comfortable room. One reviewer mentioned that even-numbered rooms on the higher floors had the best view and stayed cooler. (Guests can control the air conditioning in the rooms but not the central heat which can be too hot for some.) A few guests found the beds very comfortable.

Guests liked the location for being close to the airport and for accessing shopping right across the road.

The staff were found to be courteous, friendly and accommodating by many guests.

Some guests enjoyed the lounge on site and several mentioned enjoying the free hot breakfast that was made to order and other meals at the restaurant.

The Bad
There were lots of complaints from guests who found the hotel quite dated.

Recent room complaints were: dry air in room, mattress mediocre, noisy AC unit, centrally-heated room too hot and windows don't open to cool it down, pillows were square and too fat, controls for the new TVs too difficult, poor water pressure in shower, smelled smoke on non-smoking floor, marijuana smoke in hallways, room prices high, walls are paper thin, could hear noisy elevator in room, room was run down and icky and very noisy neighbours.

Guests sometimes complained that they found the food stale, cold and unappetizing at the free buffet breakfast.

Occasionally guests felt the hotel was lacking amenities. These guests missed having a pool or hot tub, said the fitness room was often closed, and the on-site lounge closed too early.
