Overview
This hotel is located just off Hwy 63 in downtown, an easy walk to restaurants and shops. The Peter Pond Mall is a 3-minute walk away. 

The pet-free hotel has 165 smoking and non-smoking rooms in 2 sections (7-storey tower and 4-storey motel) with elevator access. 

All rooms include free Wi-Fi, free local calls, a TV with pay-per-view movies, a coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, a desk, black-out curtains, an iron and ironing board and air conditioning.

Some rooms include a sofabed, a separate bedroom, a fireplace, a microwave, and a mini-kitchen (mini-fridge, microwave, sink).

Rooms are furnished with 1 or 2 queen beds or 1 king bed.

Two-bedroom apartments are available at an off-site location featuring 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fireplace and a full kitchen. 

Free outdoor parking is available on site. Underground parking costs $10 per night.

Restaurants on site:
The Keg Steakhouse and Bar is open for dinner. 
The Beanhouse is open weekdays for breakfast and lunch from 8 am to 2 pm. 
Live Bar and Grill opens at 4 pm for hearty Canadian cuisine and features live entertainment weekly.
Room service is available from the Live Bar and Grill for dinner.

Off-site restaurants: Blue Mountain Bistro is a 2-minute walk and Earls Kitchen + Bar is 3 minutes away on foot.

What's nearby? The MacDonald Island Park (nature park and hiking trails) is 4 minutes by car or a 20-minute walk.  Heritage Park historical village is a 6-minute drive. The Oil Sands Discovery Centre is a 10-minute drive.

The Good
Guests typically enjoyed their stay.

Rooms in the renovated tower section were basic, but clean and comfortable.

The location in downtown was convenient to offices, restaurants and shopping on foot as well as the highway.

Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Guests enjoyed dining on site at the Keg Steakhouse and Bar and Live Bar & Grill.

The Bad
Some guests were not satisfied with their stay.

Recent room complaints found were: cable channels not completely working, carpet stuck to socks, tub did not drain with hair blocking it, musty odour, bathroom floor very dirty, cracks and hole in wall, shower did not work, mouldy tub surround and lime deposits.

Noise transferred from: plumbing, the street, AC unit, dripping sound in the drain, and doors slamming.

Other comments found: location sketchy with nightclub and drunks nearby, difficulty finding parking, rooms are overpriced and hotel is older with no curb appeal.
