About the hotel: This luxury hotel is connected by pedway to Shaw Conference Centre in downtown Edmonton, a 3-minute walk.

The 20-storey hotel has 416 smoke-free rooms with elevator access.

All rooms include Wi-Fi and wired Internet for $9.95 or $12.95 per day, a flat screen TV with cable and in-room movies/video games, a coffeemaker with Starbucks coffee, a mini-bar, a desk with ergonomic chair, a safe, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, and climate control. (Microwaves are available upon request.)

Some rooms include a sofabed, a separate bedroom, 2 TVs, a living room, a dining table for 8, bathrobes, a Bose Sound System and views of the city or river. Accessible rooms are available.

Executive rooms offer free Wi-Fi, free local and North American calls, free bottled water, 20% food and beverage discount for lunch or dinner and a $25 food and beverage daily credit.

Rooms are furnished with 2 double beds, 2 queen beds or 1 king bed.

Parking: Self-parking is $33 in a heated underground parkade with a clearance of 6’5” or in an overflow outside lot behind the hotel. Valet parking is $43 per night. All parking offers unlimited in-out access.

Guests typically enjoyed their stay.

Rooms were clean and well appointed with very comfy beds.

Location was handy to downtown restaurants, shopping, Rogers Place, Churchill Square, public transit and the River Valley Park.

Staff were personable, accommodating and friendly.

Guests really enjoyed meals on site and the weekend breakfast buffet with omelet station.

Guests also liked: heated underground parking.

The Bad
There was some negative feedback.

Recent room complaints were: lighting was dim especially at night, bathroom is poorly lit for applying makeup or shaving, a dated washroom and lack of convenient plugs and charging points.

Noise transferred from: in-room heater, a concert across the street, neighbouring rooms’ showers/toilets, adjoining rooms, hallways doors closing and the service elevator.

Other comments found were: have to pay for business centre use, parking was limited on busy weekends, hotel is a little dated with worn hallways, restaurant was a bit expensive and room service menu was limited at night.
