Overview
About the hotel: This new hotel offers spacious rooms with modern decor, a 10-minute walk from the dining and entertainment district of Jasper Avenue and the LRT Central Station. Edmonton’s City Centre mall is about 12 minutes away on foot.

The 11-storey hotel has 255 smoke-free rooms with elevator access.

All rooms include free Wi-Fi, free wired Internet, a 43” flat screen HDTV with cable, a single-serve coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, a sofabed, a desk with ergonomic chair, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, and climate control.

Some rooms include a separate bedroom, 2 TVs, a living room, a kitchenette (stove top) and a dining table. Accessible (ADA compliant) rooms are available.

Rooms are furnished with 2 queen beds or 1 king bed.   

Parking: Outdoor parking costs $24 and underground heated parking (clearance 6’4”) is $28 per night.

Pets are welcome (2 under 50 lbs each or 75 lbs combined) for $75 per 1- to 6-day stay and $175 for stays of 7 to 30 days.

A free hot breakfast is offered weekdays from 6 am to 9 am and weekends from 6:30 am to 9:30 am.

There is no restaurant on site, but a lounge that offers soups, salads and sandwiches, Starbucks coffee, wine and craft beer.

Off-site restaurants: Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Underground Tap & Grill and Madison’s Grill, a 10-minute walk away.

Hotel amenities include a hot tub, a 24-hour fitness centre, a business centre, dry cleaning, a 24-hour front desk, a 24-hour mini-market with packaged snacks, sandwiches and pastries, Odds & Ends to buy, borrow or enjoy for free, ice machines, free newspapers and meeting rooms.

What’s nearby? The biking and walking trails of Louise McKinney Riverfront Park which overlooks the North Saskatchewan River are a 2-minute walk away. Shaw Conference Centre is a 6-minute walk.

City attractions: Rogers Place is a 5-minute drive or 30-minute walk. Telus World of Science and Fort Edmonton Park are both a 13-minute drive. The University of Alberta is a 7-minute drive. Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium is an 11-minute drive. Edmonton Valley Zoo is a 20-minute drive.

The Good
Guests typically enjoyed their stay.

Rooms were clean and very spacious with comfortable beds and large bathrooms.

Location was downtown in walking distance of restaurants, shopping and public transit.

Staff were friendly, polite and helpful.

Guests were typically quite impressed with the free breakfast for selection and ambiance.

Guests also liked: lots of seating at breakfast and bar, amazing views on higher floors and large hot tub.

The Bad
There was some negative feedback.

Recent room complaints were: difficulties adjusting temperature to warm enough, no bathrobe, no hand lotion, no free bottled water, layout of room was awkward, no tub in the suite, and pillows were uncomfortable.

Noise transferred from: in-room heater.

Some found the parking tight and expensive and the lobby difficult to find from the parkade.

Guests had difficulties accessing the ice machines with the elevator due to the building security where they could not use the elevator to access all floors.

Some thought the area was sketchy for walking around in at night.

Other comments found were: no staff on main floor to welcome guests, only coffee mate for coffee, no restaurant on site or nearby, no room service, no cocktails available at the bar, bar only open till 9 pm, snacks were sold out, no vending machines, and bottled water sold at front desk was too expensive at $4.75 each.
