Overview
Located about a 2-minute drive from the nearest Trans-Canada Highway on-ramp and an 8-minute drive from Canmore's city centre, The Gateway Inn is geared towards road travellers who require a hotel with free Wi-Fi, extended kitchen amenities and easy highway access. 

Each of this smoke-free hotel's guest rooms comes equipped with free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a coffeemaker, a mini-fridge and a bathroom with free toiletries. One-, two- and three-bedroom cabins are also available and additionally offer a full kitchen with cooking and cleaning supplies. 

The hotel also offers BBQ facilities and free parking. Pets are permitted upon request in certain units and charges may apply (please contact the hotel for details). The hotel is not wheelchair accessible.

Canmore Nordic Centre is about a 16-minute drive away, while Canmore Golf and Curling Club is 3 minutes away by car. Sobey's can be found roughly an 8-minute drive from the hotel and Banff Airport (YBA) is an 18-minute drive away. (All distances and travel time estimates: Google Maps)

The Good
The majority of the reviews sourced for this analysis were positive, with compliments going to the hotel's location, staff, rates and rooms.

The hotel's location was praised by many lodgers, who described it as beautiful, relaxing and easily accessible, as well as close to Canmore, Banff and highway access. One patron noted, "The area between Canmore and Banff provides a view of the Three Sisters Mountains and the quiet outdoor property has a gentle flowing stream behind the building". One guest did complain about the hotel being too far from Canmore, however.

Numerous guests were pleased with the level of customer service they received. They characterized the staff as accommodating, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations.

The hotel's rates were complimented by several reviewers. They described them as great, reasonable and "great value for the cost".

Several travellers were satisfied with their accommodations at the hotel. They found their rooms to be clean and quiet, with comfortable beds. Some patrons criticized their lodgings, however (see below).
