Overview
This property offers two- and three-bedroom chalet accommodations. Situated in the Bow Valley, within walking distance of the falls, this hotel is well located for guests who are looking for more secluded accommodations among the natural surroundings of Banff National Park.

This resort is 100% smoke free and all 46 chalets include a 32" flat screen TV and DVD player in the living room, a TV in each bedroom, a full kitchen (including a dishwasher), a sofabed, a balcony and gas BBQ, two bathrooms (each with a hair dryer), a fireplace, a dining room and an iron and ironing board. Two-bedroom chalets sleep either six or eight people, while three-bedroom chalets sleep eight people.

Wi-Fi service is available in each chalet for an additional fee of $8 per 24 hours. Housekeeping services are offered mid-week and weekly (no daily room cleaning). Free parking is available on site and pets are not permitted.

On-site recreational facilities include an indoor pool, an indoor and outdoor hot tub, a tennis court, a basketball court, two playgrounds, hiking trails and a recreation room. Other on-site amenities include a massage service, meeting space and a ski shop. Please note that this property does include a gym, but it is closed until 2014 for renovations.

Access to the Trans-Canada Highway is about a 2-minute drive away, while the Stewart Creek Golf Course is 11 minutes away by car. Elevation Place, a recreational facility with a rock climbing wall, aquatics centre, child care services and an art gallery, is also an 11-minute drive away.

The city centre area of Canmore, which features boutique shops, a yoga studio, restaurants and nightlife, is 14 minutes away by car. The Junction House Cafe and Market, which sells both prepared foods and groceries, is a 3-minute drive or 17-minute walk away.

Skiing at Mount Norquay is a 32-minute drive away, while skiing at Sunshine Village is about 50 minutes away by car. The Calgary International Airport (YYC) is a 65-minute drive away. (All driving and walking time estimates: Google Maps)

The reviews sourced for this editorial were mixed. However, many guests were impressed with the secluded mountain location. One guest said that walking on the mountain every morning was pure joy. Some guests enjoyed the on-site hiking trails and wildlife sightings.

Several guests were happy with their chalet and found it to be spacious and well equipped with amenities including a full kitchen, private deck, a jetted tub and a fireplace. Several reviewers agreed that staying in the chalet was like being in your own home. However, some other guests were not impressed with the overall quality of the chalets (see below for more details).

The Bad
Among the reviews sourced for this editorial, many guests were disappointed with the condition of the appliances and furniture in their chalets. These reviewers thought that the chalets appeared dated and unclean. Guests described cracked moulding and a burned-out light in the fridge, a dishwasher rack missing a wheel, ripped and worn screens on the windows and chipped and worn countertops.

A few guests were disappointed that the jets in the indoor hot tub were not working for the duration of their stays.

A couple of guests complained that the window coverings were inadequate and did not block out the sun. A couple of reviewers said that the Wi-Fi service was unreliable.
