Overview

This hotel is located in a big-box shopping area in south Calgary, a 3-minute drive from Deerfoot Trail and 16 minutes from the city centre.

The smoke-free hotel offers 201 rooms over 4 floors with elevator access.

All rooms include free Wi-Fi, a 32” LCD TV, a coffeemaker, a desk with ergonomic chair, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer and climate control.

Some rooms include a separate bedroom, 2 TVs, a living room, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a mini-kitchen (mini-fridge, microwave, sink), a kitchenette (stove top), a dining table, a 2-person hot tub and a washer/dryer (on request). Accessible rooms are available.

Rooms are furnished with 2 queen beds, bunk beds or 1 king bed.

Free parking is available on site.

Pets are welcome for $10 each per night.

The Good

This hotel provided a comfortable stay for many guests.

Guests were often pleased with the rooms. They were clean and stylish and had comfy beds. Guests also liked having extras like a mini-fridge and microwave in some rooms.

Guests liked the location. It was in walking distance to Ikea and Walmart, had close access to Deerfoot Trail and was an easy drive to Heritage Park Historical Village. One guest reviewer enjoyed beautiful walking trails near by.

Guests liked the staff. They were described as courteous and friendly.

The Denny’s on site was enjoyed by guests for its modern décor and guests were pleased to have a choice of restaurants on site. Guests who ate on site, seemed to have enjoyed their meals.

Guests also found the hotel reasonably priced.

The Bad

Sometimes the hotel failed to meet guest's normal expectations.

Some guests complained of small rooms.

Guest rooms did not seem to be properly checked for simple maintenance problems before being rented out and recent guests reported the following problems: a door bolt did not work as it was misaligned, the bathroom door would not latch or lock but actually swung open offering no privacy, there were loose fixtures in the bathroom, the bedroom door did not latch not allowing the expected privacy, and a guest in a loft room complained of a necessary ceiling fan which made a grinding noise all night while the air conditioner did not regulate the room’s temperature to sufficiently cool it.

Staff seemed poorly trained at times. A guest had to argue with the front desk that the breakfast special included 2 free breakfasts and not 1 only, when it was clearly written on the hotel’s website, dirty dishes were left for days in the hallway by the ice machine and housekeeping failed to show up even to provide clean towels and toilet paper to a guest.

Other similar hotel related complaints were: the elevators were left not functioning and the key cards frequently did not work.
