Overview

This hotel is located in Calgary's northeast quadrant, about 15 minutes by car to the city centre and 10 minutes to Calgary's airport (YYC).

The smoke-free and pet-free hotel has 101 rooms and 4 floors with elevator access.

All rooms include free Wi-Fi, free wired Internet, free local calls, a 32” LCD TV with cable and pay-per-view movies, a coffeemaker, a mini-fridge, a microwave, a desk with ergonomic chair, an iron and ironing board, a hair dryer, windows that open and climate control.

Some rooms include a sofabed, a separate bedroom, a mini-kitchen (mini-fridge, microwave, sink) a 2-person hot tub and a fireplace. Accessible rooms are also available.

Rooms are furnished with 1 or 2 queen beds or 1 king bed.

Free parking is available on site.

Extended parking is available: Guests can obtain 7 days free extended parking if they stay during the weekend. A weekday stay will allow for a 7-day extended parking rate of $7 per day.

A free 24-hour airport shuttle runs on demand from the airport. Guests should call 1.403.769.1888 for pick up. From the hotel, the shuttle runs mostly on demand and also operates on a 45-minute schedule during the morning.

A free hot breakfast is served daily from 6:30 am to 9:30 am.

The Good

Guests were often quite pleased with their stay and found this a good value hotel in a convenient location.

The rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Guests found the rooms to be newer, a good size, with attractive furnishings, lots of hot water for showers and comfortable beds with quality linens.

The location was convenient. Guests often used this hotel to access the airport and found it handy with its free airport shuttle service and extended parking options. Guests said there was always room to park and the parkade was well lit with good security. Nearby restaurants were well liked along with the Cactus Club a few minutes' drive away.

Guests often liked the free breakfast. It was served early and guests found it to offer good variety and great coffee. It had items such as eggs, sausages, pancakes, muffins, bread, cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice, coffee and tea.

Guests often enjoyed the pool, hot tub and waterslide. One reviewer described the pool as medium sized with warm water.

Guests often found the staff quite helpful and welcoming with a friendly and quick check in.

Many thought the hotel provided good value with a very reasonable room rate.

The Bad

There was a little negative feedback offered in the reviews but the issues raised were often of an isolated nature.

Occasionally guests were impatient to have to call the shuttle after arriving to the airport and to have to wait an additional 15 minutes for it to arrive for pick up.

Some guests had nitpicks about the rooms. Complaints included: the TV was small, dark and angled in a way that made it difficult to watch, the fan in the room was noisy, the in-room or bathroom lighting was dim, the shower had a very strong setting and a very weak setting, and the views from the rooms were mostly of parking lots on the lower floors.

Some guests found the staff rude or short at times.
