The good value Days Inn Edmonton South is a well run and comfortable hotel. It serves a good hot breakfast from 6 am to 10 am and has clean, spacious and quiet rooms, windows that open, fast reliable free Wi-Fi, ample free parking and good customer service with friendly staff. It's a smoke-free and pet-free facility and although there is no on-site restaurant, there is a Timmies across the street and restaurant choices as close as a 6-minute walk away (not to mention Whyte Avenue restaurants 10 minutes away on foot). Guests use it often to access the hospital, an 8-minute drive away.

This hotel works well for guests visiting the hospital as it's only a 9-minute drive and offers a clean and spacious room with comfortable bed. It has a restaurant on site and there are many options nearby as it's attached to the City Centre mall. It has covered parking and valet service, and maybe best of all, very caring staff.

The Courtyard offers a clean and comfortable room in a nice part of town, overlooking the Saskatchewan River. Hotel Selkirk provides a peaceful respite from the hospital, especially for guests visiting their relatives. It's only open in the summer and is a part of Fort Edmonton Park offering a step back in Edmonton's history. Although the hotel is a re-creation of a circa 1920 hotel, it does provide a comfortable room with air conditioning (but no TV), has an elevator and offers good food at the restaurant on site. Guests especially like to roam the park and enjoy beautiful scenery in the evening or early morning before park visitors arrive. Location
Located on the University of Alberta campus, the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH) is a research and teaching hospital in South Central Edmonton. 

UAH is run by the Alberta Health Services Network and is located within the Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre alongside the Stollery Children's Hospital and the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute. The three hospitals work together as "hospitals within a hospital." A number of other clinics and facilities are located in the nearby area.

UAH specializes in cardiac care, transplants, neuroscience and burn treatments, but offers many other patient services.

Getting Around
The Yellowhead Trail Highway 16 can be reached in a 12-minute drive, and the Queen Elizabeth II Highway is a 16-minute drive south. The Edmonton International Airport (YEG) is an approximate 30-minute drive away.

The Edmonton Transit System, or ETS, has a light rail transit station at the hospital, called the Health Sciences Jubilee Station, which is only a 4-minute walk from the hospital. Their website has a full list of route maps, as well as a trip planner.

Cash fares (2017) are $3.25 per ride, per adult, and an unlimited-use day pass can be purchased for $9.50.
