The Best Western sounds like the newest and nicest of the hotels in Thompson, judging from guest reviews and pictures. It's 100% smoke-free with well-furnished, clean and spacious rooms. Guests have commented positively about many aspects of the hotel from the friendly staff, to the excellent free hot breakfast, to the comfy beds and fine bedding. Someone said it's perfectly located close enough to walk to downtown (2 minutes), but far enough from the noise. There's no on-site restaurant, but the Northern Inn & Steakhouse is about a 2-minute drive or 9-minute walk away.Their rates are not cheap, but they do include Wi-Fi, parking and breakfast in the room rate.

The Quality Inn & Suites is a well-loved and newer budget hotel in downtown Thompson, only 10 minutes to the airport. It receives a lot of accolades from its guests who appreciate several aspects of this hotel and its services. All rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed, each equipped with kitchen appliances, with the suites having full-size fridges and additional stove tops. The free breakfast buffet is also highly appreciated for its quality and varied selection with many hot items available. The location is well liked also for its proximity to the Safeway store for in-room meal making and others have liked being close to Tim Hortons and Boston Pizza. There is also a kiddie pool and playground a short walk from the hotel. Guests say the staff go above and beyond and many give this hotel their highest recommendations.

Location
Thompson Municipal Airport (YTH) is located in Mystery Lake, and is approximately 6 km or an 11-minute drive north of the town of Thompson, Manitoba. The area surrounding the airport is quite rural with a lot of greenery and several lakes nearby. The Thompson Golf Club is an 8-minute drive from the airport and is on the route into town.

Parking is available at the airport at the rate of $6.60 per day or $46.20 per week, including taxes.
Getting Around: Driving
The drive into Thompson will take approximately 12 minutes, and the route is very straightforward; head south along Mystery Lake Road (391).
Enterprise and National Car Rental both service the airport, however, they are not always on site. Car rentals need to be scheduled in advance with either company to have it ready and waiting at the airport upon arrival. Prices for car rentals vary, and will range from approximately $80 to $114 per day.
