The Holiday Inn Express Toronto East offers good value near the Scarborough Hospital. It is well-liked with a high recommendation rate. It comes with a well-pleasing free hot breakfast and Wi-Fi and parking are also included in the room rate.
This is a clean and well-maintained hotel which is only an 8-minute drive to the hospital. Guests needing to take transit will find the bus stop conveniently located a couple minutes' walk from the hotel and the bus ride about 20-minutes in duration to the hospital.
Although there is no on-site restaurant guests will find the Keg Steakhouse about a minute's walk from this hotel. The Scarborough Town Centre mall is about a 7-minute drive for more eating and some shopping options.

The Best Western is a suitable hotel as well. Guests were a little less enthusiastic about the free breakfast here, with comments such as "fairly basic". It has a fairly good recommendation rate and reviewers liked the staff for the most part, called the rooms clean and quiet and seemed to appreciate the location for its proximity to Hwy 401, a 4 minutes' drive. The hospital is 8 minutes away, the Scarborough Town Centre mall is 6 minutes away and the Keg is a 4-minute walk away. There were a few complaints about unreliable Wi-Fi, although it is free as well as parking. It has an exercise room as well as indoor pool.

This hospital is located in a residential area in Scarborough, adjacent to Bendale Park, which has a long bike path that traverses the city. It's a 6-minute drive from this hospital to the Ontario 401 Express.
Getting Around
The Toronto Transit Commission services the hospital area and many other neighbourhoods in the city of Toronto and Scarborough. The standard adult fare is $3 for a one-way ride. The closest bus stop is a 1-minute walk from the hospital doors.
Scarborough is a bike-friendly city, and one can take advantage of numerous bike lanes on city roads as well as bike paths through parks, notably Bendale Park right next to the hospital. Even on roads without bike lanes, there are often many people out on bikes, enhancing visibility and safety.

There are no on-site dining options for visitors. However, McCowan Fish & Chips is just a 2-minute drive or 6-minute walk from the hospital and is open from 11 am to 7:30 pm every day, with Friday's hours extending to 8:30 pm.
Bendale Restaurant is a 3-minute drive or 10-minute walk from the hospital. It is open from 7 am to 10 pm Monday to Friday, and 7 am to 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Coffee Time Donuts & Cafe is a 1-minute walk from the hospital and it is open from 6 am to 8:30 pm every day.

The Scarborough Hospital is a community hospital that offers diverse services including: cardio-respiratory and critical care, complex continuing care and specialized geriatrics, emergency care, family medicine and community services, general and sub-speciality surgery, orthopaedics and rehabilitation, maternal newborn and child care, mental health and more.
Visiting hours are from 11 am to 8:30 pm daily, with exceptions for compassionate reasons and certain special care wards. Only two visitors per patient are permitted at a time.
