Located just outside of central Medicine Hat (a 9-minute drive) in southwestern Alberta, about a 3-hour drive south of Calgary, the Medicine Hat Regional Airport (YXH) has daily flights operating to and from Calgary, serving domestic and international connections.
The city of Medicine Hat is surrounded by a number of large natural gas fields, giving it the nickname "The Gas City."
