Tips For Staying Near McMahon Stadium

Just northwest of downtown Calgary and south of the Bow River, the McMahon Stadium is situated just off of the University of Calgary campus. The stadium is owned by the university, and operated by the McMahon Stadium Society.

The stadium is home to the Calgary Stampeders (CFL), The Calgary Wolfpack (Alberta Football League), The Calgary Colts (Canadian Football League) and The University of Calgary Dinos (football and soccer).
Pre-game entertainment is set up outside in the parking lot for kids to try their luck tossing a football to win prizes. In-game entertainment includes half-time shows and cheerleaders dancing throughout the game to boost crowd excitement and participation.

Event calendars for upcoming games can be found on Ticketmaster, as well as on the websites of the respective teams.
Getting Around
The stadium is within easy access of a number of major roads and highways, as it's situated just off of Crowchild Trail NW. The Trans-Canada Highway is less than a 1-minute drive from the stadium. The Calgary International Airport (YYC) is an approximate 19-minute drive from McMahon.

Due to limited parking options and of course congestion before and after the game, taking public transit to the stadium is probably the best option, and the Banff Trail C-Train Station is a 3-minute walk from the stadium.

A single-ride adult fare is $3 and a day pass can be purchased for $9 allowing for unlimited rides for one adult. More information and route maps can be found on the Calgary Transit website.

If you're trying to find the best seats in the house to buy for the next game, seating charts can be found on the Stampeders website.
The lot surrounding the stadium is reserved for season ticket holders who have paid extra for the privilege of easy access. However, a limited number of spots can also be found at the Stampede Mall for $8.
Options for hungry sports fans are the usual burgers, fries and pizza as well as popcorn, peanuts and chips for snacks. Beer and liquor is also served with a strict 19+ policy.

Other dining options in the surrounding area can be found within a 5-minute walk of the stadium.

For members, the Red & White Club is a buffet service open before, during and after the game.
A number of stalls can be found throughout the stadium to purchase your favourite teams' gear, with the official Stamps Store located at the southeast side.
