Tips For Staying Near Kitsilano Beach
Location
Situated on the shores of the Burrard Inlet and north of the Kitsilano neighbourhood in downtown Vancouver along the seawall walking system, Kitsilano Beach, known also as Kits Beach, is a popular destination for swimmers and sunbathers in the summer months.
Entertainment
Aside from lounging on the beach, there are a number of activities available to beach-goers, from the 137-metre Kitsilano saltwater pool, to basketball, tennis, hockey and beach volleyball courts. Lessons and rentals for wind surfing, skim boarding and stand-up paddling are also available. More information is available on their website.
Also at Kits Beach are children's playgrounds and an off-leash dog park.

The panoramic view of the beach spans from the North Shore Mountains, the open water of English Bay to Stanley Park, to downtown Vancouver behind you.
Getting Around
Walking from the east to the west side of the beach takes an approximate 7 minutes. The entire park itself is approximately 1.5 km from side to side and trails are available to walk to the nearby Vancouver Maritime Museum as well as the Museum of Vancouver (a 20-minute walk from Kitsilano Pool at the east end of the park).
Central Vancouver is a 10-minute drive, while the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is an approximate 25-minute drive away.
The park is serviced by TransLink buses, operating from both Central Vancouver and West End Vancouver. A single-ride fare is $2.75 for adults, or $1.75 for children or students and seniors with ID. For more route and fare information, visit the TransLink website.
Parking
Summertime parking fees (from May 1 to September 29) are $2.50 per hour and $10 per day. Throughout the winter months, parking is $2 per hour and $4 per day.
