Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls has a lot of hotels, but many of them have fair-to-poor ratings. What’s even worse, the price of a room skyrockets during the summer, and especially on summer weekends. The high prices for mediocre rooms may also account for the low ratings in the area, as guests tend to be more critical of accommodations that charge a lot of money if they're not well maintained.

In our quest for value, we compared the quality and type of amenities offered for the price. Our picks are chosen from the better rated hotels with good reviews and good amenities on site.

Tips For Staying In Lundy's Lane, Niagara Falls

Lundy’s Lane Niagara Falls was first made famous (or infamous) as the location of one of the deadliest battles in the War of 1812. Despite its unfortunate beginnings, however, Lundy’s Lane is now known as one of Niagara Falls’ most vibrant areas, full of restaurants, shopping and entertainment.

With ample hotels to choose from, all within a 15-minute drive of the Falls (and some as close as a 5-minute drive), Lundy’s Lane is a great home base from which travellers can explore the city.

A Shopper’s Paradise
Anyone who’s been to Niagara Falls knows that Lundy’s Lane is synonymous with shopping. From plazas to gift shops to boutiques, shoppers will find no shortage of bargains along Lundy’s Lane. Canada One Factory Outlet Mall (located on Lundy’s Lane) offers over 40 brand name retailers under one roof, and is within a 4-minute drive of all Lundy’s Lane hotels.

Personally, whenever I plan on shopping a lot on a trip, I like to find a good-value hotel so I can focus my budget on great shopping deals. Blue Moon Hotel Niagara Falls (a CHG Editor’s Pick) fits the bill of a good value hotel, offering good rates, free Wi-Fi, free parking and a free seasonal continental breakfast to get you on your way in the morning. It's about a 5-minute drive from the outlet mall, or guests can catch the bus right outside the building.

WEGO
WEGO is the city’s public bus system and makes travelling to and from Niagara Falls’ attractions a breeze. With 14 stops along Lundy’s Lane alone, you can leave your car at the hotel and save a tonne on parking costs. A 24-hour pass is $7.50 for adults and $4.50 for children ages 6 to 12 (kids 5 and under ride free).

The route along Lundy's Lane is the Red Line, and stops near every hotel. This route also swings down and past the Falls, and up to the tourist area, Clifton Hills. Passengers can transfer to any other line at the Table Rock Welcome Centre, which is the bus' central station.

Family Fun
The Best Western Plus Cairn Croft Hotel is a popular choice for families and also well liked for its value and on-site dining. Not only does it have a waterpark enjoyed by adults and children, it has a playground, an activity room and supervised fun. It is located much farther east along Lundy's Lane than our other two picks, among numerous restaurants.

Oh Canada Eh? Dinner Show has been a popular Lundy’s Lane attraction for over 20 years. Winner of the Niagara Falls Attraction of the Year seven times over, this musical celebrates Canada through song as you enjoy a dinner of Canadian-themed cuisine. The show is within a 7-minute drive of all Lundy’s Lane hotels and kids under 12 are admitted free.
