The Good
This hotel was well liked by guest reviewers.

Guests found the rooms clean, spacious and comfortable.

The town's attractions, waterfront and restaurants were an easy walk from the hotel. "Everything you could need or want is right on your doorstep including a drugstore and a grocery store."

The price was reasonable and guests were pleased with the value, finding even B&Bs in the town more expensive.

Guests enjoyed pleasant experiences during their stay: viewing the Northern Lights, good home cooking with generous portions at the hotel's restaurant, and relaxing in the peaceful common areas.

Guests loved the outdoor deck with gardens and one guest put it this way, "The common areas are well kept and the gardens are beautiful with lots of places to sit and enjoy the many hours of daylight.'

Guests found the staff very helpful and friendly and some were pleased with the option of getting a call from staff if the northern lights were appearing in the night skies.

The Bad
This well-loved hotel had a few weak points.

No in-room Wi-Fi was the most complained about aspect of the hotel. Although some said it worked well in the lobby area, guests felt the hotel should have provided it everywhere.

There is no elevator to the second storey of the hotel's 4 buildings and occasionally guests moaned about having to carry luggage up to their rooms.

There was the odd complaint about the air conditioning not working in some guest rooms, although others had good AC.
