OverviewThe Days Inn Saskatoon hotel is located on the east side of Idylwyld Drive and just to the south of Circle Drive in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Facilities at the hotel include a pool with a waterslide, a hot tub, a fitness room, meeting space, two elevators, and a laundromat. There is no restaurant on site however the hotel does provide a complimentary continental breakfast served in the hotel's Daybreak Cafe.
The four-story hotel includes some smoking rooms and common guest room amenities include fridges, coffee makers, cable television, irons, ironing boards, free local calls, and free wireless Internet.
Check in time at the hotel is 3pm while check out time is 11am.
John G. Diefenbaker International Airport (YXE) is near the hotel at a distance of 2.2km. The hotel is also well situated for motorists passing through Saskatoon as the Circle Drive and Idylwyld Drive intersection is only about 400m from the hotel. From that crossing, motorists can easily connect to the Yellowhead Highway (#16), Highway 12, and/or Highway 14 (driving distances - Google Maps).
The GoodThe Days Inn Saskatoon hotel did not have an abundance of reviews available however the hotel appeared to have a few strong points.
Many guests felt as though their guest rooms were clean and multiple guests also mentioned that their beds were comfortable.
Additionally, the hotel seemed to be a popular destination for guests who had children. A big reason for that had to do with the pool and the waterslide at the hotel. One guest, for example, said that the pool was "great for kids."
The staff received mixed reviews and on the plus side, many guests said that they were both "friendly" and "helpful."
The Bad
Guests that were not happy with the hotel mentioned a few common concerns.
The breakfast received some poor reviews as guests indicated that the food was poor quality or that it had limited selection. One guest, for example, said that there was "no option for protein" and another guest called the meal "below average."
Occasionally guests complained that they noticed an unwanted scent while staying at the hotel and often this scent was pinpointed as chlorine that originated from the hotel's indoor pool.
Many guests did not feel as though they received good value for the prices that they paid.
One guest, for example, compared the Days Inn Saskatoon to another hotel that she had stayed at. She indicated that her stay at the other property was cheaper despite the fact that it was a better hotel. Multiple guests echoed this sentiment as one patron said he/she "paid a lot less" for a property that had a higher star rating. Another guest who had been traveling a great deal said that the Days Inn Saskatoon's rates were "the most (they) paid for a hotel on (their) trip" and the property "was (their) least favorite."
TripAdvisor.com ranked the hotel 9th of 30 properties in Saskatoon and the site had 35 reviews.
CanadianHotelGuide.com guest ratings averaged to 7.7 points out of 10 and the site had 12 reviews.
Expedia.ca guest ratings averaged to 4.6 points out of 5 and 100% of guests recommended the hotel (5 reviews).
