The Good
This hotel received a lot of positive comments from reviewers in recent online reviews.

Guests found this a very clean, quiet and comfortable place to stay. The hotel is in a heritage building but is well maintained and also has seen recent renovations (2015). Guests conveyed that the rooms were nicely cleaned and offered very comfortable beds, in spacious well-appointed rooms.

The location of this hotel seemed perfect for business guests and those wanting to access festivals and sport events and there was some mention of the hotel's proximity to the airport as well. Several had made this hotel their "go to place" in Regina as it had become a perfect fit for them. Apparently good restaurants were within a short walk and there was parking around, either at the hotel, at nearby city outdoor lots, or on the street for free if you were on your way before 8 am.

This was a friendly place, with nice staff overall who seemed to be responsive to guests, willing to answer questions and made guests feel at home. Several reviewers spoke of the nice experience they obtained staying here.

The main draw seemed to be value for price. One guest said that this hotel was better priced than others downtown likely because it was in an older building, but it was completely new on the inside and offered a quieter stay than its competitors.

The free breakfast was also well received by guests and was evaluated as delicious by some and typical HI fare by others. Many appreciated the convenience and cost savings of a free breakfast on site.

The Bad
There was not that much wrong with the hotel, according to the reviews posted recently.

The most talked-about weakness was a lack of on-site parking spaces and the extra $10 charge for parking at the hotel, but guests found other ways to meet this problem. Guests who were planning to leave before 8 am could park on the street from 6 pm the night before for free. Others were directed to a lot across the street and given a voucher by the hotel.

Occasionally guests pointed out idiosyncracies with the decor, things that perhaps were not that well thought out or where the renovators took short cuts, and one guest thought the colour scheme was popular in the 70's.

Also there was the odd comment that this downtown area was sketchy at night and somewhat depressed with closed restaurants nearby, and a couple of guests mentioned that the hotel lacked hotel amenities such as a restaurant, lounge and pool.
