Some guests enjoyed comfortable rooms that they considered to be well maintained.
Guests usually spoke well of the staff, except for the odd complaint against them. Those who were pleased with them said they were pleasant, accommodating and very friendly.
Guests were often pleased with the location. They felt it was convenient in relation to the highway and town and was easy to access. One guest called it a prime location.
Although the restaurant on site did not get a perfect score from guest reviewers, many applauded the food and service.
Guest reviewers provided mixed opinions of their stays. It seems that guests who got renovated rooms enjoyed them, but guests who got older rooms complained about issues in the rooms and voiced dissatisfaction in a number of areas.
Some guests complained of tired rooms. Issues mentioned included rooms that were too hot, both in the winter and summer, running taps that would not shut off, stained bedding and furniture, beds were too small for two adults, no heat at all in the room during the winter, bubbled and peeling paint.
One-time complaints with regard to the rooms included: a noisy exhaust fan in bathroom, a shower that turned very hot and very cold in quick intervals, a non-functioning coffeemaker, no phone in one room, peeling vanity in one bathroom, a non-functioning hair dryer, and an old TV.
A few guests complained of poor Wi-Fi. One guest thought it happened when the hotel was full and many guests were using it at once.
Noise at the hotel which disturbed guests' sleep was a problem for some. Complaints included loud music from the bar, a loud wedding, kids playing hockey in the hallways, a door to the outside that banged very loudly, a noisy light over the pool area near one guest's room and a nearby laundry room that ran all night.
Some guests felt the hotel was overpriced for what it offered, especially those who got older rooms or those guests who did not get a breakfast included. As well, a couple of guests complained of not being able to get an early breakfast before hitting the road.
