The Good
The hotel received good scores overall from guests, although recent reviews were somewhat mixed.

This hotel was appreciated for its downtown waterfront location which was close to the city's dining and entertainment district.

It offered rooms that were decently clean and spacious with comfortable beds. And some rooms provided pleasant views of the St. Lawrence river.

It had a large fitness centre, a small indoor pool and offered secure underground parking.

Guests typically enjoyed the breakfast offered on the top floor of the hotel and many liked the staff who they found to be very friendly, attentive and accommodating.

The Bad
Some guests were not fully pleased with the hotel and they complained along a few common themes.

Many recent guests considered the rooms dated, smelly and tatty, sometimes lacking expected amenities, and sometimes in need of better repair and cleaning.

The pool and hot tub were disappointing to some guests. They complained that the pool was overly chlorinated with their eyes burning in the room from the fumes. It was also very crowded and small with locals also using it and the hot tub was not hot enough.

Extra charges at the hotel were an annoyance for some. Although guests seemed to enjoy the breakfast buffet, they complained of being charged an additional $3 for a fried egg on top of the buffet breakfast price. One guest mentioned that as he helped himself to an apple at the front desk, he was warned that it would cost him $2.40.

Many recent guests felt the hotel was overpriced. They spoke of having to pay extra for parking and breakfast and one guest claimed that there was a substantial tax on the room bill as well.
