Located in a beautiful old home, across from the National Museum of Fine Arts of Quebec and surrounded by the vibrant shopping and dining spots of Avenue Cartier, the Auberge du Quartier appeals to guests who prefer a small and well located boutique-style inn with a cozy atmosphere in walking distance (20 minutes) or a short transit ride (8 minutes) from Old Quebec.

This auberge has 24 air-conditioned guest rooms and suites over 4 floors, each offering free Wi-Fi, flat screen cable TV, a private bathroom, a work desk with ergonomic chair, an iPod docking station and a hairdryer. Rooms come with double, queen or king beds. Suites may also include a balcony, a fireplace, a separate bedroom and a sitting area with a sofabed. Some rooms are in the basement level and have stair access only, but other rooms have elevator access.

The hotel offers a rooftop terrace and parking is an additional $15 per day on-site or 1-2 blocks away. Pets are not permitted, and the hotel does not offer wheelchair accessible rooms. A continental breakfast buffet is available for $8.99 per person.

Avenue Cartier, which has several restaurants and cafes, is a 2-minute walk from the Auberge du Quartier. Le Carrefour 707 Shopping Mall is a 7-minute drive (or 20-minute walk) northwest.

The Good
The majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were positive with much praise going towards the hotel's location, staff and rooms.

This hotel's location was well liked by many guests who described it as being within walking distance of to rue Cartier's restaurants and shops, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Plains of Abraham, and Old Quebec City.

The hotel's staff were the source of numerous compliments by lodgers. They were characterized as helpful, attentive, bilingual and offering concierge services, restaurant recommendations, tour booking and informative guidance to travellers to Quebec City.

Several guests were pleased with the accommodations at this hotel and described the rooms as clean, modern, tastefully decorated, well laid-out and well equipped, with comfortable beds and linens.
The Bad
While the majority of the reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, there were a couple common complaints.

Some guests were disappointed with the costs associated with staying at the hotel. These guests mentioned the additional $15 per night for parking and the $8.99 per day for the continental breakfast were too expensive.
