"This was the second time I stayed at the Hotel Clarendon. The place is beautiful. I do have a couple of things that really bothered me this time.
First, We requested a non smoking room. We were on the first floor and getting off the elevator the smell of a smoking floor was evident. The room smelled of smoke. However, it was a smaller annoyance than other smoking rooms. The linnen did not smell of smoke, which would have been intollerable.
Second, when I showed up, I parked in the front. My wife stayed with the car, waiting for the valet, while I checked in and brought most of our bags to our room. When I came out she was still standing there, I waited another 15 minutes, then went to park my car myself.
Otherwise the city is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone, but the hotel was only average."

"My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Clarendon Hotel. It was a superb experience. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our hotel room was very quiet and had its own quiet climate control which was very welcome as the temperature during our stay was very warm. We felt very safe walking around this lovely and interesting tourist area. The buffet breakfast in the hotel is top notch. The dining room is very classy and the service is excellent. I listened to some great live jazz music in the hotel lounge. The hotel is a very short cab ride from the VIA train station. I would recommend the Clarendon hotel in a heartbeat and hope to return there again in the future."

"I was surprised that we had to PAY for extra coffee. I have never had to do so before - we had just spent 8 night in Montreal and one in Ottawa. I talked to the desk who suggested it wasn't her problem but a decision made and common of all hotels. I think it is tacky to make us pay $1.25 for another coffee. Also windows that opened would have made the room more comfortable, we were 4 in a room! Other than that the business centre was convenient. The location was excellent."

"Very convenient location, wonderful staff. We appreciated the valet parking as city streets were crowded and parking very limited. All in all, a pleasant surprise, we will be back."

"We've stayed here before and the refurbished rooms were very nice.
Only issue is the service in the lounge/jazz bar. We would go there for a pre-evening drink each night and the service was pleasant but inattentive. Other customers had to go to the bar to get another round of drinks, which is inappropriate.
Other than that, I love the place and would readily stay there again."

"We had a most enjoyable stay at the hotel, however the shower in the hotel room was almost dangerous - the water would switch from being relatively warm to being dangerously hot, I would suggest it is something that should be looked at."
