The Good
Guests typically loved every aspect of their stay and were impressed by the polished service and attention to detail at this hotel.

Guests were highly pleased with the luxurious and beautifully decorated rooms. They had high tech remote controls to operate and regulate various room amenities such as lighting, television, audio players, electric shades and heating and cooling units. There were beautiful marble bathrooms with steam showers, heated floors and toilets, soaker tubs and very comfortable beds. Some liked having toto toilets.

Guests said the service at this hotel was unmatched. Staff showed genuine interest in each guest, welcomed them warmly, carefully communicated with them to ensure their satisfaction and went above expectations producing that 'wow factor'. Some world travellers said it was the best service they had ever had. Guests said they were emailed prior to their stay so that the staff could prepare just the right room for them at just the right time.

Guests enjoyed exquisite dining on site describing the restaurant as outstanding with excellent food, presentation and service. One recent reviewer wrote, "The restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton has a fantastic French cuisine as well as outdoor seating along a small pond with ducks and fish."

Guests thought the location was unbeatable. It was close walking distance from entertainment venues, excellent restaurants and nightlife plus designer boutiques and shopping streets like St. Catherine and Sherbrook.

The rooftop pool and summer terrace was a real hit with guests. They found the views spectacular and the time spent there memorable. It was a great place to begin the day or unwind at the end of the day.

Many guests felt the hotel was worth the cost.

The Bad
There were some complaints and nit picks found online.

Occasionally guests felt the hotel was overpriced and there was better value to be had.

A few guests said that the restaurant food was average and the mixed drinks at the bar were very expensive. Sometimes guests felt the hotel's staff lacked attention to detail and guests who were used to first rate service in high class restaurants complained over small oversights, such as seeing stacked chairs at the breakfast buffet and staff not removing used cutlery at the end of each course. One guest was upset to find tea bags served at the afternoon tea.

Some rooms overlook an alley, so guests recommended getting rooms on a higher floor overlooking Sherbrooke Street.

Guests who wanted a perfectly dark room had trouble with LED lights in the room that did not go off at night or light that came into the room from bathroom windows that were not shuttered.

There were a few noise complaints. Guests cited doors slamming, noisy guests speaking in the hall, air transfer units above the beds and noise from the ballroom and events within the hotel.
