The Good
Guest opinion was mixed as were the distribution of review scores, but those who liked this hotel found it affordable and in an excellent location for seeing Montreal.

The most common compliment in the reviews was that the hotel was ideally located near a metro station, and was within walking distance to many attractions, particularly bars and restaurants.

Some guest reviewers said their rooms were basic but clean. Some others felt the hotel was good value, and was ideal for guests who did not require much more from their hotel other than a clean, safe place to sleep, and a convenient base from which to explore the city.

The Bad
Overall, guest opinion varied and the guests who did not like this hotel complained along several points.

Although the hotel's Latin Quarter location was cited as ideal by many reviewers, the immediate area was described by some as being a bit seedy, with beggars and drunkards near to the hotel and some reviewers found the street noise disruptive. As well, there is a strip club beside the hotel, which made some reviewers uncomfortable.

The hotel's free Wi-Fi and breakfast also received some negative comments - many reviewers said the Wi-Fi did not work well, and others were disappointed that the complimentary breakfast consisted only of weak coffee and store bought muffins or croissants.

Many guests complained of unfriendly, unpleasant and unhelpful staff members.

Guests often complained of a lack of air conditioning in their rooms or the room being too cold as the temperature was not controllable from the room.
