"I have to be honest...our stay was tainted by the shooting directly outside our window...on Tuesday morning, June 7th. Two persons killed by police, one being an innocent bystander. It was not the hotels fault, but still left a very bad taste in my mouth about the area in general. many many homeless persons wandering around the neighbourhood, not far from Hotel St. Denis, I saw in midday, two persons on sidewalk shooting up heroin. as this was first trip to Montreal, a heads up for visitors as to where is safe, would have been nice on part of hotel staff."
