The Good
Guests were very impressed with the hotel, and considered it to be world class.

It has impressive architecture and decor which guests often call stunning and gorgeous. One guest stated, "The hotel lobby and common areas including the library are delightful--ornately decorated with sculptures, oil paintings and fine drapery bursting with old-world charm."

Guests found the rooms and bathrooms spacious and well appointed. They described the beds as very comfortable, the rooms as very quiet and well soundproofed, with high ceilings, crown moldings, lovely artworks and the bathrooms as having white marble, large soaking tubs, heated floors and the world's best shower heads.

The staff service was extraordinary. They were genuinely eager to help and empowered to correct any minor fault to the guest's satisfaction. Concierge were spot on with restaurant recommendations and could not do enough to serve the guests. Guests were also pleased to be greeted by a doorman who assisted with luggage and having their shoes shined daily.

The location was very well liked. It was easy to access Metro underground from the hotel and guests found restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions in walking distance.

Some guests described the on-site dining as amazing. They were impressed with attentive service, the menu selection, the presentation and the entire delicious experience. One guest called it a culinary adventure.

Guests who had spa treatments were impressed with wonderful staff and the facilities. One recent guest reported, "The spa is wonderful and located in the original bank vault in the basement, encased with brick walls which also served as the original fortification walls of old Montreal! The therapist welcomed me and showed me to a private changing room that had its own steam room, sauna, shower, toilet, sink and closet...the treatment was excellent."

The Bad
Guests were quite positive overall, but occasionally there was a little critique of the hotel found online.

Some guests found their rooms a little dark with little natural light and poor views. Others mentioned a lack of closet space, electrical outlets by the bed, as well as coffeemaker or ironing board.

Some guests felt the restaurant prices, and pay movies were very expensive. A few guests said the bar closed too early.
