Numerous guest reviewers described the staff as cheerful, eager, and welcoming. Staff member Yohan in particular was mentioned several times for being especially helpful. One reviewer wrote that the staff were "gracious, helpful, good humored, and made us feel like old friends rather than temporary guests."
The rooms also received substantial praise for their size, cleanliness, comfort, and views of the city, Mount Royal, or the St. Lawrence River. Many guest reviewers found their beds comfortable, and the rooms spacious.
The hotel received praise from many guest reviews for its overall value for money, with comments that the hotel was very reasonably priced considering its location, service, and rooms. One reviewer wrote that, "from the moment we walked in the door we were delighted with the service, the ambiance, the room, the amenities, and, most importantly, the staff."
Overall, the hotel received very few negative comments from the guest reviews used in this analysis.more
There were a few comments that the immediate area is a bit run-down. One reviewer commented that the neighbourhood is a bit "sleazy" but that this did not present any problems. There were also a few guest reviewers who said that their non-smoking rooms smelled of cigarette smoke.
There were a few comments from guests who would have appreciated an on-site restaurant, although they were far outnumbered by guests who were happy with the on-site breakfast buffet and with the many dining options available to them in the neighbourhood.
Many reviewers said that they had booked the hotel for its location and value, and were aware that it would not be luxurious, but cautioned guests who prefer more amenities to perhaps stay elsewhere. The hotel was described positively by some reviewers as "no-frills" but this may be perceived negatively by guests that like a little luxury. As one reviewer wrote of the hotel, "If you need a calm, safe base of operations, this is a worthy choice".
