The Bad
Although some guest reviewers felt the hotel provided a suitable and cheaper place to stay in Old Montreal, there were some guests who felt it was just too basic and more like a hostel than a hotel.

Many guest reviewers described their rooms as tiny and very basic with dated decor and very small beds. There were also some comments from reviewers that the beds were worn-out, the floors sloping, and the rooms poorly lit. A few complained of creaky floorboards, no Wi-Fi in the rooms and hearing neighbours conversations through the vents. Occasionally a guest would complain of having to carry heavy luggage up flights of stairs. Some guests complained of no hot water for a shower, or heat in very cold days in the winter, and poor ventilation in the summer.

Although a few guests found their meals reasonably priced, a large number of guests who had meals or drinks on site complained of expensive prices.

Several guests complained of slow check ins, difficulty making arrangements, especially over the phone, and rude personnel.
