Located a 15-minute walk from Montreal's city's centre and about a 10-minute walk from the University of Quebec at Montreal, the Hotel Eureka is popular with the budget-conscious traveller who requires a centrally-located hotel with a business centre and 24-hour reception.

This hotel has 20 guest rooms, each offering free Wi-Fi, cable TV, a telephone, a DVD player, and an iron and ironing board. Standard rooms offer one double bed and a shared bathroom, while rooms with two double beds, a kitchenette and a private bathroom are also available.

Hotel amenities include a business centre and a coffeeshop. Pets are permitted but charges may apply and depend on the size and number of the animal (it's recommended guests phone in advance to discuss with the hotel). The hotel is not wheelchair accessible.

Nearby dining options include Copines de Chine and Restaurant Nickels, which can both be found within a 2-minute walk south of the hotel. Shopping is available at Place Dupuis, which is about a 2-minute walk south of the hotel.

The Metro's Berri-UQAM station is about a 4-minute walk south of the Hotel Eureka, while the Just For Laughs Museum can be found 3-minutes southwest by car. The Jacques Cartier Pier is roughly a 6-minute drive southeast, and Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) is a 22-minute drive southwestward. The Good
While most of the reviews consulted for this analysis were negative, there were a few common praises among them about the location and prices.

Many reviewers complimented the hotel's location. They found it to be close to the Metro, St Catherine's Street, the gay village, and many restaurants and shops.

Some guests were pleased with the rates at this hotel. They described them as reasonable and cheap. It should be noted however, that a few guests felt the rates were raised once they arrived, and claimed having to pay extra fees and taxes they were not aware of, such as a $5 Wi-Fi fee (even though the hotel advertises free Wi-Fi).
The Bad
While this hotel received some positive comments among the reviews consulted for this analysis, most of the reviews were negative and focused primarily on the hotel's rooms, staff and noise transfer.

Numerous reviewers were disappointed with the accommodations at this hotel. They described their rooms as cramped and dirty, with bad ventilation, no air conditioning, unusable Wi-Fi and broken TVs. Some guests also reported the hotel turns off the heat in unused rooms, so the rooms were quite cold and took time to warm up once the heat was turned on.

The hotel's staff were a source of many complaints by lodgers. They were characterized as rude, unfriendly, and not bilingual.

Several guests mentioned noise disturbances during their stay. They reported noise from the downstairs bar/coffeeshop late at night, noise from neighbours partying in adjacent rooms, and street noise from outside.
