The Good
Many guests really enjoyed this very clean and friendly hotel, considering it well located for accessing so much in the downtown and really good value.

Guests typically found extremely clean, comfortable, and well designed rooms. Unlike other budget hotels or hostels, this hotel had warmth and charm with beautiful hardwood floors and exposed brick walls.

The gentile and very friendly desk staff as well as the housekeeping staff, who kept the public washrooms and showers very clean, were highly appreciated by many of the guests.

Guests were typically pleased with the continental breakfast offered by the hotel which had breads, pastries, yogurt, hard-cooked eggs and beverages. Some had it included in their room price and some paid $8 for it, according to recent reviews.

Many guests enjoyed the location. It was close to Metro, the train station, major shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, downtown Montreal, and Old Montreal.

Guests in the reviews often spoke of the great value the hotel provided and planned to return.
The Bad
Although the hotel is very popular with guests overall, there were some weak spots mentioned by guests.

The hotel has a few floors and lacks an elevator, making it difficult for some to carry luggage up, especially if the front desk staff is not available to help (which they try to be).

The hotel is located right above a sex shop and there are some strip clubs in the immediate area, which made some guests feel the area was not child-friendly.

Guests who paid about $8 a person extra for the continental breakfast felt it was a little high.

There were varying reports when it came to noise, with some finding the hotel quiet and other disturbed by pedestrians/partiers on the street, a music festival on the street, the breakfast/kitchen area sounds near a guest room and the sound of guests walking on hardwood floors above.
