The Hotel 7 Saisons is located on St. Hubert Street, in Montreal's vibrant Plateau neighbourhood, and is popular with travellers looking for an affordable base from which to explore the city's many nearby attractions.

This 4-floor, Victorian style hotel offers free Wi-Fi in all its rooms and common areas. There is no on-site restaurant, but the hotel serves a daily complimentary continental breakfast in its lounge area. Parking is free on the hotel's street and there are also paid parking lots close to the hotel.

There are 14 rooms in the hotel, and guests may choose from among rooms with 1 or 2 double beds. All rooms come with a private bathroom, a hair dryer, a telephone, air conditioning, and cable TV. Complimentary coffee and the use of a microwave are available in the hotel lobby.

The hotel is a 5-minute walk to the Berri-UQAM metro station, which is the centre for 3 of Montreal’s 4 metro lines. The Berri-UQAM station is also home to the Greyhound bus station, as well as the 747 airport shuttle bus which takes travellers to or from Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport in about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic conditions, for a fare of $8. The train station is 4 metro stops away, at Bonaventure station.

The hotel is less than 1 km from many of Montreal's popular neighbourhoods, restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and other attractions. Located on the eastern edge of Montreal's lively Plateau neighbourhood, the hotel is in between the Latin Quarter and the Gay Village. The hotel is a 5- to 10-minute walk from the shops and restaurants of St. Catherine Street, and both Chinatown and Old Montreal are about a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Also within a 10-minute walk is the vibrant nightlife of both St. Denis Street and St. Laurent Boulevard (all distances and travel time estimates: Google Maps).

Some reviewers felt the hotel was small and cozy and well-located, close to a major metro station and walking distance to many tourist attractions. There were also some comments that the staff were friendly and helpful. One reviewer wrote that the hotel was "quaint" and "outdated, but had charm".

Some reviewers found their rooms to be clean and comfortable, and provided a good base from which to explore the city.

The Bad
Although some reviewers found the hotel to be good value for money, there were many who were less pleased with the hotel's overall value.

There were several comments in the reviews consulted that the rooms smelled bad, often of smoke, and were old and outdated. Some reviewers said the walls were paper-thin and found the noise and voices of their neighbours to be disruptive. Some also described the hotel as feeling more like a youth hostel and one reviewer described it as “junky". There were also a few comments from guests in 2011 who said they found bedbugs in their rooms.

Some guest reviewers found their overall hotel experience inadequate, and wrote that they would opt to spend a bit more and stay elsewhere on their next trip to Montreal.

"My only real complaints were no soap in the rooms, the smell of cigarets, and the bed was uncomfortable."

"Good choice between down and up town in Montreal"

"It was a very good deal for the price paid. The hotel is well located just behind the bus station and St-Catherine street. The breakfast is a little bite limited but OK for the price. The bedroom was large, quiet and very well decorated. I will definitively go back to the 7 Saisons for my my next trip to Montreal."
