Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport is 20km from the hotel, or about a 30-minute drive.
The Holiday Inn Montreal Midtown is within 10 minutes walking distance to many of Montreal's attractions, such as McGill University, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the shops on St. Catherine Street, and the nightlife on St. Laurent Boulevard. It is also a 10-minute walk to the Quartier des Spectacles, Montreal's outdoor summer festival site. A little bit farther away, Mount Royal, Chinatown, and Old Montreal are all an approximate 20-minute walk from the hotel (all distances and travel time estimates: Google Maps).
The Bad
There were many comments in the reviews used for this analysis from reviewers who were not satisfied with the hotel's rooms, staff service, and overall condition.
Many reviewers wrote that the hotel was loud and the walls "paper thin”. There were several comments about noise from large groups of teenagers or sports teams, and being able to hear even quiet conversations in neighbouring rooms.
There were numerous comments that the hotel was in poor condition and the décor dated. Some reviewers said the carpets appeared old and dirty, while several others said their bathrooms were in need of maintenance, with poor plumbing and loose tiles.
There were several comments about inadequate staff service as well, such as slow service at the front desk, slow responses to requests, and inconsistent cleaning from housekeeping.
Some reviewers wrote that the hotel was "just average" and was overpriced given the quality of their experience.
