The GoodThe majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were positive with much praise going to the hotel's location, rooms, and value.
Many guests were pleased with the hotel's location. They described it as being close to the Metro, restaurants, shopping, Old Montreal, the Financial District, and a supermarket.
The hotel's rooms were a source of several compliments by lodgers. They were found to be well-equipped, spacious, clean and tastefully decorated, with comfortable beds. It should be mentioned however, that numerous guests complained of poor water pressure from the shower heads.
Several reviewers found that the hotel provided good value. The room rates were described as reasonable. One patron found the hotel to be good value for the price, while another remarked, "It is a good hotel for families on a low budget, because it provides a kitchen".
The Bad
While the majority of the reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, there were a few common complaints among them which included lack of concierge, noise transfer and lack of elevator.
Several reviewers were disappointed that the hotel did not provide a 24-hour reception. Guests are required to call in advance to arrange for check-in, which some lodgers felt to be inconvenient. Also, because the staff are not always on-site, some guests claimed their requests were not met in a timely fashion. It should be mentioned however, that several lodgers characterized the staff as friendly, attentive and helpful.
Noise disruptions were reported by some guests. They described being disturbed by creaky hardwood floors, as well as street and traffic noise in rooms facing Sherbrooke Street.
A few patrons complained that the hotel has no elevator. They described carrying heavy luggage up 2 or 3 flights of stairs, and recommended that lodgers with mobility issues keep that in mind when booking with this hotel.
