The hotel is located beside the main campus of McGill University and is about a five minute walk to attractions like the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and the shops on St Catherine Street. It is about a 20-minute walk to Mount Royal, which has a scenic lookout point with views across the city.
The districts of Old Montreal and Chinatown are about 2km away, or a 30-minute walk. The hotel is also 10-minutes walking distance from the Quartier des Spectacles, Montreal's outdoor site for events such as the International Jazz Festival (all distances and travel time estimates: Google Maps).

The GoodThe hotel received substantial praise from the reviews used in this analysis, particularly for its staff, rooms and atmosphere.
Several staff members were mentioned by name by many guest reviewers. Richard, Philippe, and Rami in particular were thanked for their helpfulness to some guests. There were some reviews written by solo women travellers, and first-time visitors to Canada, who said they were treated with kindness and frequently checked up on by the staff to make sure they were okay. Many reviewers commented that the staff made them feel at home.
The rooms were praised by many reviewers for being clean, well-sized and comfortable, and for having comfortable beds. The overall appearance and atmosphere of the hotel was also described by many reviewers as classy, clean and comfortable
The hotel's restaurant was also praised for its food and service by guest reviewers. The restaurant specializes in Lebanese cuisine, which some reviewers praised as "authentic", "excellent" and "a pleasant surprise". It also serves a continental breakfast (not included). There is also a bar/lounge within the restaurant and a separate café which serves lighter fare such as sandwiches, with many guest reviewers complimenting the service, quality and options available to them.
The hotel's central downtown location was also praised by many reviewers for its proximity to attractions and to McGill University.
The Bad
While there were many reviews praising the hotel for its rooms and ambience, some reviewers described the hotel as dated. There a few comments that the "90s wallpaper" and older TVs were in need of updating.
A few reviewers described incidents where they felt that they were treated rudely by staff, however these complaints were far outnumbered by the reviewers who praised the staff.
A few reviewers wrote that the elevators slow and small. A few others said they had difficulty controlling the heat in their rooms, and that the walls were thin and they were bothered by noise from their neighbours.
