Overview
The Hilton Riverfront Hotel Downtown Windsor is located on the south side of Riverside Drive West between Church Street and Ferry Street. The hotel is situated very near to the American-Canadian border and the Detroit Windsor Tunnel entrance is just a few blocks away from the property (about 1km: Google Maps).

The 22 floor pet friendly hotel features a swimming pool, a fitness centre, a business centre, meeting space, on-site dining, and a whirlpool. Other conveniences at the hotel include an ATM machine, a safe deposit box, baggage storage, foreign currency exchange, and a gift shop.

There are 305 guest rooms in the hotel and common amenities include climate control, air conditioning, desks, and cable television. Hotel rooms typically have one queen bed or two double beds however there are some king rooms at the property. Many rooms offer a view of the nearby Detroit River with both American and Canadian shores.

Room rates also include free Internet and free weekday newspapers. Self parking is available in the ten floor garage at a cost of $11 per day.

The Good

Guests who stayed at the Hilton Riverfront Hotel Downtown Windsor had mixed opinions about the property. However the hotel appeared to have some strengths as guests often said good things about their rooms and the location of the hotel.

Guests who were impressed with their rooms typically said very good things about their views from their rooms. Several guests liked overlooking the Detroit River and the waterfront park area. Some guests described the views from their rooms as "beautiful" or "magnificent" while others just indicated that they enjoyed them.

Many guests also said that their rooms were clean and/or spacious while others commented on their beds, calling them comfortable.

Some guests liked the location of the hotel for reasons other than the views that the property provided. Occasionally guests were happy to be near the casino in Windsor while others liked the hotel's proximity to the border crossing.

The Bad

Many guests thought that the Hilton Riverfront Hotel Downtown Windsor was below Hilton's normal standards. The staff at the hotel and guest parking were two areas that guests frequently complained about.

There were some compliments for the staff however more commonly guests indicated that they were unsatisfied with the hotel's employees. Multiple guests described the staff as "rude," one guest said the hotel had "terrible customer service," while a couple other guests portrayed the staff as unhelpful.

When it came to the parking situation some guests did not like that there was not free parking. Other guest complaints frequently mentioned that the self parking was quite far from the hotel in terms of walking time. For example, multiple guests described having to walk upwards of 10 minutes between their parked car and the hotel's front desk area. One guest called this "a pain" while another said that the trek was a "hike."

Other complaints were less frequent but multiple guests said that they were not impressed with the hotel's decor. Specifically, some guests said the lobby was not up to standards. A general opinion in many guest reviews was that Hilton regulars did not think that this hotel upheld the chain's reputation.
