Located just north of Highway 401 and about 4 minutes from Iroquois Beach Park, the Residence Inn Whitby by Marriott is popular with business and family travellers requiring an all-suite extended-stay hotel that provides a free breakfast and free Wi-Fi.

This smoke-free hotel has 122 suites, all of which offer free Wi-Fi, cable TV, pay-per-view movies, a kitchenette (stovetop, fridge, coffeemaker, microwave, dishwasher, cookware, dinnerware), a desk and ergonomic chair, a hairdryer, and an iron and ironing board. Some studio suites and 2-bedroom suites offer ovens in their kitchens.

Studios offer one queen bed, a dining area for 2 persons and a living area with a sofabed and fireplace. One-bedroom suites offer one queen bed in a separated bedroom, a dining area for 4 persons, a living room with a sofabed and two TVs. Two-bedroom suites offer two bedrooms each with one queen bed, table seating for 4 persons, 2 bathrooms, a fireplace and 3 TVs. Only some of the 2-bedroom suites at this hotel are fully accessible (with roll-in showers) but other options offer partial accessibility.

Hotel amenities include an indoor saltwater pool, a hot tub, a fitness room, a business centre, guest laundry, grocery shopping service, BBQ, picnic area and meeting space. Parking is free and pets are permitted for a non-refundable fee of $75.

Whitby's town centre is about 8 minutes north of the hotel, the GO station is a 15-minute walk or 3-minute bus ride away, while mall shopping is roughly a 8-minute drive northeast at Oshawa Centre. Deer Creek Golf Course is located in nearby Ajax (about a 16-minute drive northwest), while the Toronto Zoo can be found roughly 16 minutes' drive westward. The Good
The majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were highly positive with much praise going to the hotel's rooms, location, and staff.

Many reviewers praised their rooms at this hotel, describing them as spacious, spotlessly clean, and quiet. Guests were pleased with the comfort of the beds, flat screen TVs and strong Wi-Fi signal, and also frequently mentioned the convenience of the included kitchens, which were stocked with dishware and utensils.

Numerous guests were pleased with the hotel's location. They described it as close to the on and off ramps of Highway 401, within walking distance to several restaurants and shops, as well as close to a movie theatre and the GO Station, which connects Whitby with downtown Toronto and the surrounding area.

The hotel's staff were a source of many compliments. They were characterized as helpful, attentive, professional and polite. It was mentioned that the hotel's staff were very receptive to the children's sports teams which frequent the hotel.

Guests also felt the hotel provided good value. One guests seemed to sum it up for many guests by saying the hotel was of "excellent value for the price paid", and also that "rooms with kitchenettes are an amazing plus for families on a budget".
