Overview
The Toronto Marriott Bloor Yorkville Hotel is located on the north side of Bloor Street East, between Church Street and Yonge Street in Toronto, Ontario.

Facilities at the pet friendly hotel ($50 per stay) include meeting space, laundry facilities, free Internet access in the lobby, and a business centre. Leisure facilities at the property include a gym, a sauna, and a restaurant/bar that offers breakfast (not free), lunch, and dinner.

The hotel does not have it's own self parking however valet parking is available at a cost of about $40 per night (including tax). Guests that want to use self parking can park off-site at the nearby HBC Centre and they offer varying rates depending on the day of the week and number of hours parked. However an overnight guest can expect to pay about $15 for self-parking.

There are 258 guest rooms at the six story hotel and all of them are non-smoking. Common amenities include iPod docking stations, 42" flatscreen televisions, coffee makers, hair dryers, and wireless Internet ($13.60 per day). Microwaves and fridges are available at the hotel however they are only on a request basis.

The Financial District of downtown Toronto is about 3.0km away from the property and the hotel connects to the Bloor/Yonge subway station via an underground walkway. Union Station is about 3.2km from the property and the CN Tower is 4.1km away (distances - Google Maps).

Check in time at this hotel is at 3pm while check out time is at noon.

Verified with a Front Desk Agent: valet parking costs $40 including tax, self parking is available near the hotel but off-site and the rate is about $15 for an overnight guest, $13.60 per day for Internet, and pet charges are $50 per stay.
The Good
Guests typically enjoyed their stay at this hotel and the property received a lot of compliments for its location, its staff, and its guest rooms.

Guests that liked the location of the hotel cited several different reasons. Many guests indicated that they were able to find "many shops and restaurants around the hotel" and several guests also found the property's close proximity to the Bloor/Yonge subway station convenient. Some guests did not mention specific destinations or amenities but indicated that they liked being central or downtown.

In regard to the hotel staff, guests were typically satisfied. The employees of the hotel seemed to be professional, friendly, or helpful and there were very few negative comments about them.

The guest rooms at the hotel received some mixed reviews. On the plus side, guests usually thought that they were clean and some guests felt as though they were spacious. The beds at the hotel also received a fair number of compliments for being comfortable.

The Bad
Many guests did not entirely enjoy their stays and there were a few weak points that guests complained about.

Firstly, several guests did not like the parking situation at the hotel. Most of these guests did not complain about the price although some did.

More frequently it seemed that guests bypassed the hotel's offer of $40 valet parking and parked at a recommended lot in a nearby building. These guests often stated that parking led to confusion or an inconvenience because they had trouble finding their way back to the hotel using the underground/covered walkways. For example, one guest said that parking at the HBC Centre "was not clearly signed" and how to get back into the hotel "without going outside" was not clear.

Some guests felt that the hotel was limited in some other ways. Patrons generally said good things about their rooms however some guests were disappointed that there were no fridges. Other guests wished that the hotel had a pool and occasionally a guest called the main lobby small.

There were also some complaints about extra charges at the hotel for phone calls and Internet usage. Lastly many guests complained that the hallways in the hotel were long which led to long walks from the elevators to the rooms.
Booking.com guest ratings averaged to 9.0 points out of 10 and the site had 15 reviews.

Expedia.ca guest ratings averaged to 4.3 points out of 5 and the site had 61 reviews.

Priceline.com guest ratings averaged to 8.6 points out of 10 and the hotel ranked 5th of 81 properties.

Front Desk Agent: valet parking costs $40 including tax, self parking is available near the hotel but off-site, and the hotel has six floors.

"This hotel has an amazing location, beautiful rooms, and mostly friendly staff. I would recommend it if you need to be right downtown in TO. However, unless you want it, unsubscribe to the automatic $2 Globe & Mail, and don't drink the $3 bottles of water in your room. Otherwise - enjoy!"

"This hotel's location is execellent, right by the subway and the attractive shopping district. Our two teenage girls enjoyed the Bloor street shopping very much. Royal Ontario museum is near by as well. There are many good restaurants around within walking distance."

Stanley from Montreal, QC CA rated Toronto Marriott Bloor Yorkville Hotel 7 out of 10 on November 02, 2003 Verified Guest Hotel Review

"The lighting in the room was very poor. The bathroom was very small and the room, itself, very large. I always find it very hard to understand the (architectural) design in hotels where this situation exists."
