Alain from Santo Domingo, DO stayed on July 22, 2006
"I enjoyed very much my time at the Sutton Place. The facilities were elegant and comfortable and the service excellent. I needed to check some e-mail from my office and had some problems with my laptop. I spoke to the front desk and They even offered to open their business center for me even when it was closed for over 2 hours already. The concierge was extremely helpful getting me to the places I wanted to go and a perfect dinner at the CN Tower. I loved the city too and in my next time there I'm definitely coming back to the Sutton!!!"

Scott from Bellshill, GB stayed on April 28, 2006
"The suite we were provided was bady in need of refurbishment. Everything looked old and in need of attention. Room's air conditioning was not functioning properly and pumped warm air around. Our room overlooked Bay Street and had no sound proofing or blackout curtains, making sleep very difficult. Mini bar was not present despite being quoted as being available on the Web site. With no breakfast included, this was an expensive stay in a highly overrated hotel. This is not on par with a Hilton or Radisson style hotel despite the fee. We stayed in a Best Western suite during our holiday that was cheaper and far more superior in every way. Very disappointed."

"There was an electricity failure for about 15 hours. the staff were wonderfull, but my only complaint was that the emergency lights were not working on the corridors or in the stairwells. I was lucky I brought my torch"

"The only glitch was that a transformer caught on fire across the street on the last night of my stay and it blew the power and water and phone in the Hotel in the middle of the night. The emergency lighting was just about zero and their was no communication about what had happened until guests made their way to the lobby. Could have used that as an opportunity to really go the extra mile. It worked out so I can't complain. The beds are super comfortable and housekeeping service was great."

"When I went to take a shower just before 10 am on the Sunday there was no hot water. I was told maintenance would be sent to my room on 2 occasions when I called the front desk. Over an hour later I was frustrated and they finally sent a key for one of their apartments where I was able to take a hot shower. It was an inconvenience and it took 1.5 hours to resolve which took away from my schedule. I did inform the management and I was offered a complimentary breakfast for my friend and I which we accepted. They seem to have problems with certain floors if there are too manay guests taking showers at the same time. This does seem ridiculous for any hotel."

"The Hotel ran out of hot water which to me is inexcuseable. Also, I found that I was put on hold for too long when I called down to the front desk (this happened several times)."
