The Good
This picturesque hotel was highly praised by its guests. Situated in a peaceful out-of-way locale, amid beautiful grounds with English Tudor decor, it oozed romantic ambiance. Many of its guests were returning couples who came for a peaceful retreat--a weekend getaway or mini-escape from busy lives.

The staff made it all happen. They were extremely friendly and hospitable. They anticipated guests' needs and offered outstanding service, making sure guests' needs were met. Anniversary's were greeted with bottles of wine and chocolates, rides were arranged pre-emptively at times and upgrades offered graciously.

Guests enjoyed dining at the hotel often describing the food as excellent. They loved hearing the jazz musicians in the lounge.

The rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed. Guests enjoyed the double jacuzzis, fireplaces and peaceful views.

The location was the perfect blend of "away from it all" and "close to amenities", with public transit an easy walk from the hotel and most things an easy drive or subway ride away.

The Bad
Guests that offered negative input were few in numbers as reflected by the hotel's high ratings.

Several guests were upset to not be provided an early check-in as the hotel offers check-in at 4 pm.

Occasionally guests were disappointed that the free breakfast did not offer hot foods.

Some guests had trouble finding the front desk as the hotel has two entrances, one near the lobby and marked with a sign "Lobby/Check-in" and one farther from the front desk.

Occasionally guests complained about the hospitality fee that was surcharged at check-out time. Some mentioned not having seen it on the hotel's website, but the manager responding to the review said it was listed or mentioned at time of booking.
