"The parking garage is very confusing. You actually have to crossover to the other side of the road when you first enter and the again when you leave.
the pool was great."

"the people at the front desk were very polite and nice. It has a fare breakfast but a bit overpriced. The rooms are kind of small, but nice. It has a great fitness center.
The rest of the hotel is an average 4 star."

"Do I win a prize (like a free weekend in Toronto for doing this?
I enjoyed my time at the Metropolitan Hotel. It was very quiet, both inside and outside the hotel even though it was right downtown, close to everything. It had everything that a traveler would need.
I have recommended this hotel to others already, and someone I know is coming to stay in a week or so.
the food at Hemispheres was wonderful and the service was very genuine and kind.
so, like I said, do I win any prizes????? ;-D I guess what I'm really saying is that I would love to come to Toronto again soon and stay with you again.....thanks.
Darlene Lamb"

"1.parking spot is expensive and not guaranteed even if you pay in advance. It is better that they ask if a parking spot is required and book in advance with the room.
2. Customer service doesn't look to follow up with each other about the customer as there is different opinion each time we ask about the same issue."

Edna from Middle Grove, NY US stayed on February 23, 2006
"(1) Reservation requested 2 beds; only one bed was provided...and that was only a "double;" rather tight for two grown adults/mother & daughter
(2) The room was hardly larger than a closet
(3) There was no "turn down" service
(4) There was no written receipt or explanation provided regard the need for such a receipt to receive tax refunds at the US border
(5) Managerial staff were singularly unhelpful or inaccessible
(6) Service staff said they "tried," but could not contravene "policy"
IN ALL, A MOST SHABBY & DISAPPOINTING HOTEL EXPERIENCE...P.S.
SHAME ON YOU!!!"

"First of all, I asked for a mending/sewing kit - didn't get one. Saturday night-- a fire alarm at 1:30am due to an issue in the kitchen --is what was told to the lady asking while I was checking out. I was not pleased to hear that staff was that careless. The front desk person, I don't recall his name, was not the most plesant person to deal with when I asked him to seperate my mini-bar charges from those that were "business". It was as though I was imposing upon him to conduct this task. Perhaps, he lacked in that sort of training. Anyway, he managed to get through the process and I was on my way. My initial experience with the Front desk on the day I arrived was fantastic. The woman, Rhadna(sp?) was most helpful and extremely professional. She belongs in the customer service industry! I expected that same level of service throughout my stay and it fell short. The only reason I chose this hotel was that it has the "Preferred Hotel" status. I will think twice before I recommend the Metropolitan Toronto to anyone."

"The Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. All of the staff were helpful. the concierge went over and above in offering good customer service
The Climate control units were noisy although this was the only downside to the hotel room
The standard of cleanliness was very high and although an older hotel the furnishings were of a high standard
The Hotel room bar was well stocked although tea and coffe provisions were limited - not enough milk for more than two drinks although enough coffee for four drinks - just a minor compalaint
The Bathroom was a good size and fully stocked daily
I would definately stay their again"

"Excellent service over and above by staff especially the concierge
Air conditioning noisy in room but otherwise rooms very comfortable and spotlessly clean
Well stocked bar in room and tea and coffee facilities although not enough milk for the coffees
Restaurants superb and on par price wise with similar restaurants in the city.
We would definately stay there again"

"There was a water main broke the night we were there. We had a conference to attend and stayed there to be on time and fresh. We were neither. The information about what was happening was vague. The hotel is great but as a result of staying there we lost out greatly.
Room charges are unclear, but the shower and toilet was non functional when we woke. There wasn't even water to brush our teeth. So you can understand why we'd rather just forget the whole experience."

"Be aware that the taxes and hotel charge bump up the total cost of the stay quite a lot at this hotel.
I found the noise of doors shutting in the mornings from the corridor quite irritating when I was trying to sleep.
Also the aircon is very noisy when it comes on and off with the timer... at night especially."
