The Bad
While the majority of reviews consulted for this analysis were positive, there were some common complaints about the rooms and noise transfer.

While the majority of guests were satisfied with their accommodations at the hotel, some reviewers had complaints. They reported small rooms and bathrooms, dated decor and old TVs. It was also disappointing to a few lodgers that there was only wired Internet in the rooms, not Wi-Fi.

"Disgusting Room"

"The room was terrible, bedding was dirty and obviously had not been changed as there was hair and pubic hairs all over the sheets. I was forced to lay the towels which were sufficiently clean enough to lay on top of the bed covers and try to get some sleep, following a long and difficult day and night with my spouse at the hospital during and following surgery. As soon as the lights were turned out, I heard scratching sounds. When I put the light back on, there were numerous bugs crawling on the walls and ceiling. Not cockroaches but close enough. Some kind of centipedes. A few more times and I was finally forced to catch my forty winks with the lights on and one eye open. Free breakfast...?? I figured the coffee might be safe enough to drink, as for the meager foods offered I assumed that if the kitchen was in the same state of cleanliness as the room, it was better to just do without. I would not, ever, never again stay at this hotel for any amount of money. I would have preferred to spend the night in my car."

"Friendly service and good location"

"The best feature of any hotel, this one included, is how the staff interact with the guests. I especially appreciate the friendly attention from the two ladies at the front desk Diana and Arlene."

"good spot in Toronto"

"I chose this location specifically because it had a parking lot attached. When we arrived (around 8pm) all the spaces had been taken and I had to park at a public lot around the corner. This worked out to be cheaper than the hotel's parking and really wasn't too far, but be aware that they only have a small lot if you book this place. The front desk staff are accommodating. The rooms are clean and comfy."

"Value for money"

"Just about everything you need in a nice neighbourhood near to the centre. Breakfast was a little disappointing but otherwise the Isabella is value for money."

"Three great nights"

"I enjoyed my stay not only because there were no problems or issues, but the location was close to the subway, staff were most pleasant and helpful when I had a question. My only caveat is the narrow door opening for the shower. This may be a tight fit for some."

"Inexpensive, good location, friendly staff. Good value"

"The staff is pleasant and helpful. The location is very good (close to the Bloor line). The room was small but clean. I would recommend this hotel to friends, as I was staying in it for the third time. On the improvemnt side: Continental breakfast could use fruit and croissants. It's very austere. The smell from the Bar/Restaurant downstairs prevades the public areas (though not the room). Better ventilation would be a definite improvement."

"When I arrived Friday the 24th after driving 5 1/2hrs on one of the hottest days..I was told at the front desk that they did NOT have a reservation for me.VERY FRUSTRATING and UPSETTING. They could put me up that FRiday evening however It seems that EVERTHING was booked downtown Toronto for the gay pride weekend.. Later that evening however, the manager juggled a few things and apologized and upgraded me to a small suite for Sat and Sunday nights.. Clean/quiet/comfortable room at very reasonable price with helpful employees. Will return to the Isabella again !"
